Beginning in 2020, journalists and investigators documented a sprawling labor trafficking operation embedded in illegal cannabis farms on Navajo Nation land in northwest New Mexico. Chinese workers were recruited under false pretenses, held in remote locations, and forced to work. 505 GET FREE was involved in the response.
